Vice-rector for international and national cooperation at the University of Silesia Prof. Tomasz Pietrzykowski was once again appointed chairman of the Council of the National Agency for Academic Exchange. In the Council, he will also act as a representative of the minister in charge of higher education and science. 

The Council, which was established in 2017, is an opinion-making and advisory body of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange. Its tasks include preparing proposals for the directions of activities and development of the agency, issuing opinions on reports on its activities, as well as periodic evaluation of the implementation of action plans.

The Council also includes Prof. Wiesław Banyś from the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Silesia, rector of the university in 2008–2016. He acts as a representative of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland.
