The Faculty of Biology of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Centre (PSNC) and Esri Poland are inviting participants to the 8th BioGIS Forum on 29 and 30 November. During the forum, the results of the implementation of projects on digitisation of archival natural history collections, implemented and financed under the Digital Poland Operational Programme, will be presented.

Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the potential of using digital natural history databases for scientific, educational, nature conservation and environmental management purposes.

Paper sessions, discussion panels and workshops on the use of digital natural history databases in education and nature conservation, preparation of natural history collections for digitisation, the digitisation process, geotagging methods, specimen location descriptions and many IT aspects of database construction and tools used in online analysis are planned.
