The Warsaw Immersion startup, in cooperation with NASA and the Smithsonian Institute, created the application of AR (augmented reality) “Apollo’s Moon Shot” on mission Apollo 11, during which, on July 21, 1969, Neil Armstrong set foot on the Silver globe.
– NASA gave us access to historical materials, such as photos or recordings of the moon landing, which became part of our application. What’s more, we decided to use some of them in particular sequences, for example during a rocket launch simulation, in the background users can hear real recordings of conversations – says Piotr Baczyński, CEO of Immersion.
Immersion has already worked on educational projects with American institutions. The company created a series of projects for Newseum – the Washington Museum of Media. Also, recently in collaboration with the Museum of Natural History in New York, it revived T-Rex through its application. The Warsaw startup realizes 80 percent of its orders on the American market.
