The Department of Environmental Protection of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) and the Institute for Sustainable Development Foundation are inviting scientists, business practitioners, local government officials and non-governmental organizations to the conference entitled “100 years of environmental protection in Poland – and what next?”, which will take place on March 16-17, 2020 at Dom Technika in Warsaw.
The symbolic 100 years anniversary reminds December 17, 1919, when the Polish scientific community proposed the creation of the State Council for Nature Protection in the independent Republic of Poland.
The conference aims to teach students by showing the effort of many generations of people, institutions and organizations, which has been put into caring for native nature and modern understanding of environmental protection and sustainable development.
The topics of the conference will concern the historical failures and successes of environmental protection in Poland and the development of recommendations for the future sustainable development policy of the country in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
