Researchers, business representatives and technology parks from eight countries of the Baltic Sea Region are implementing the BalticLSC (Baltic Large-Scale Computing) project, which aims to improve the efficiency of using large computing powers.
– Our goal is to support innovative activities, mainly of small and medium enterprises, but also of large companies to use the computing surpluses – says Dr Eng. Michał Śmiałek from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, coordinator of the BalticLSC consortium.
According to the PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe) association report, the European Union loses 2-3% of GDP annually due to delays in the application of modern computational methods. In the Baltic States, these indicators are even worse. Thanks to BalticLSC, the situation is to improve.
