From November 4 to December 15, 2019, the Wiki Science Competition will be launched. This is an international competition for the best photo documenting the world of science. The authors of the most interesting photographs will receive prizes.

The Wiki Science Competition is an international competition with aim to collect photos of the world of science e.g. photographs documenting scientists at work, objects and effects of research, and research equipment. It is also intended to encourage creation, creativity and most importantly – to present creativity related to science. The competition is divided into several categories: science people, microscopic photos, non-photographic media, photo sets, nature and general category.

The competition is open to everyone. Each of the submitted photographs will go to the Wikimedia Commons collections and will illustrate articles in every language version of Wikipedia. The best works will be also qualified for the international part of the competition.
