Wrocław realises green project of University of Life Sciences graduate

Wrocław is implementing a project Green arteries of Wrocław by Agata Wałek, a graduate of landscape architecture at Wrocław University of Life Sciences. The project of green area of Legnicka and Lotnicza Streets includes green belts belonging to the Municipality of Wrocław, located along traffic routes: carriageways, tram tracks, bus stops, pavements and cycle lanes.

The project will involve planting 932 trees of 16 species. The selected species include field maple, broad-leaved linden, ash, European ash, common maple, red birch, small-leaved linden, Turkish hazel, sycamore, red chestnut, American ash, maple-leaf plane and aspen.

The project envisages a number of solutions to support the development and acclimatisation of trees in difficult urban conditions, such as root screens, soil replacement for plantings and soil substrate for trees planted in pavements, mycorrhization, hydrogel, water drainage bags and stem bleaching to protect against pests”.
