Students of the Medical University of Wroclaw will be the first Polish academic team in history that will conduct research in the field of medicine and astrobiology in cooperation with the European Space Agency. The ARES team project has been accepted for implementation under Spin Your thesis! 2019.

The project is an experiment on the functioning of cancer cells in changed gravity. In the device Large Diameter Centrifuge will be carried out experiments on samples that will be exposed to acceleration from 1 g to 20 g.

Participation in the competition is part of the project “Research on the protection of biological material for the needs of space missions” financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education as part of the competition “The best of the best! 3.0.” It is attended by students of the Medical University of Wroclaw, the University of Wrocław and the Wrocław University of Technology.
