University of Life Sciences in Wroclaw for the first time in its history is ranked in the Shanghai list. The university took 208th place in the field of food science and technology for 300 best universities in the world. Wroclaw veterinary faculty was 241st.
The success was a result of the number of citations – mainly the works of scholars from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences. The 208th place in the ranking is the highest position of Polish universities conducting research and educating in the field of food science and technology.
The Academic Ranking of World Universities is called the Shanghai ranking after the city in which the Jiao Tong University and its Institute of Higher Education is located. There, the idea of creating a ranking analyzing the academic staff and students in terms of gaining awards in significant scientific competitions, the number of citations and publications in the most important scientific journals was born.
