In the latest Shanghai ranking, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences took 186th place in the field of food science and technology, for the top 300 universities in the world. The veterinary medicine department also appeared in the ranking.

The Wrocław University made its debut in the 2017 ranking at 255th place in the food science and technology field. The success was due to the increasing number of citations – mainly the work of authors from the biotechnology and food sciences department. Next year brought promotion to 186th place, and the department of veterinary medicine was added in the ranking for the first time – on 190th place.

The Academic Ranking of World Universities, called the Shanghai ranking, analyzes the academic staff and students in terms of winning awards in significant scientific competitions and the number of citations and publications in the most important scientific journals.
