Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences to improve the quality of local wines

Almost 4.8 million PLN will be awarded to scientists from the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences for a project that aims to improve the quality and recognition of Lower Silesian wines. The money will be allocated from the budget of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture.

As part of the project “Innovative technology for the production and bottling of grape wine and the method of organization of production as factors for improving the quality of locally produced wine products”, a mobile wine bottling line and a center for analyzing horticultural wines will be created, which will support research and facilitate the work of wine plantations from the region. Researchers will research viticulture agrotechnics and cultivars to create a code of good practice for vine cultivation.

The project was created in a consortium of 18 members including University, winemakers from the Lower Silesia and Opole region, the Lower Silesian Agricultural Advisory Center and the Polish Society for Horticultural Sciences.
