Over 80 scanned publications from the collections of Wrocław University of Science and Technology will be adapted to the needs of visually impaired people under the project “University of Technology of New Opportunities”, for which the National Center for Research and Development awarded a grant of PLN 14 million.
The collection of scanned books includes electronic versions and scans of textbooks on mathematical issues, statistics or publications on computer science that are available only in the open science zone at the Bibliotech and in the Lower Silesian Digital Library on computer terminals.
In addition, as part of the grant, more than 50 navigation plans will be prepared, which will be located in the key places of the university. The program includes a virtual walk around the university and a guide for people who would like to cooperate with the disabled, creating documents or educational materials tailored to their needs.
