Wrocław University of Science and Technology, as the first scientific institution of Poland, became a member of ERMA, European Raw Materials Alliance. The European Raw Materials Alliance brings together over 300 companies, organizations and institutions, is part of the plan for the security of Europe in the field of critical and strategic raw materials.
The basic goals include reducing the dependence of European Union countries on raw materials imported from the so-called third countries, as well as developing and diversifying strong supply chains and improving resource management and re-use while promoting responsible sourcing worldwide.
ERMA serves as a consultative platform and create a fund to financially support key investments in raw materials. It will also carry out activities supporting public acceptance and awareness of the role of raw materials and advanced materials for energy storage in the transition to a green and digital economy.
