The Wrocław University of Science and Technology Library has initiated two projects of the digitalisation of its scientific resources and increasing the accessibility of its collections. For their implementation, the university received more than PLN 300,000 from the ‘Social Responsibility of Science’ programme of the Ministry of Education and Science.
In the project ‘Digitalisation of PWR scientific heritage: measurements, journals and doctoral theses’, unique architectural documentation and approximately 160,000 pages of archival scientific materials, such as scientific papers and journals, as well as doctoral theses (from the 1950s onwards), constituting the scientific heritage of the university, will be scanned.
The second project, “Increasing the accessibility of Wrocław University of Science and Technology’s collection in the Lower Silesian Digital Library”, involves the preparation of nearly 1,400 electronic documents – compliant with current standards for making digital content available, in useful and universal formats.
