According to The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), the so-called Shanghai ranking, for another year Wrocław University of Science and Technology ranks among the best universities in the world. The University maintained its third position among Polish technical universities.
This year, over 2,000 universities from around the world were compared, the list includes 1,000 best universities. As a year ago, Wrocław University of Science and Technology was classified in places 901-1000, maintaining the third place among Polish technical universities (together with the Warsaw University of Technology).
The ARWU results were first published in 2003, and since 2009 it has been run by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy. Universities are rated on six academic or research performance indicators, including Alumni and staff who received Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, the number of articles published in Nature and Science, and articles indexed in the main indexes cited, the University of Technology reports.
