Dr Andrzej Żak from the Faculty of Chemistry at Wrocław University of Science and Technology has been awarded a Fulbright Senior Award. He will conduct research at the US-based Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The scholarship holder’s research interests are related to electron microscopy methods, with recent projects focusing on the observation of light-induced processes. At MIT, he will lead a project on the analysis of phase transitions, deposition and nucleation of metals under light excitation.
The Fulbright Fellowship awarded by the Polish-American Fulbright Commission is aimed at research and teaching staff at any stage of their post-doctoral career.
The Fulbright Senior Award is the United States’ largest scientific and cultural exchange programme, enabling individuals employed at Polish academic and scientific institutions to carry out independent research or research and teaching projects in the USA.
