The jury of the American Architecture at Zero competition has recognised the designs for a low-emission agricultural centre prepared by students of Wrocław University of Science and Technology. From among the proposals submitted by young architects from all over the world, it awarded the concepts of Angelika Śliwińska and Wojciech Bandyk and Roksana Gleizner.
The competition has been organised for the past 12 years by the American Institute of Architects in California and the American Institute of Architecture Students in cooperation with major companies in the energy industry. It is a competition for students and architects already working in the profession, which promotes low-carbon and zero-energy solutions for buildings.
This year’s design challenge was a low-carbon educational agricultural centre (Teaching & Innovation Farm Lab), and participants in the competition competing in the categories for professionals and second-level students also had to design accommodation for the courses that would be held at the centre.
