Students of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology have developed a system for classifying customers and generating promotions, which was rated highest in the “Grab Big Data” competition organized by the Żabka Polska. As a reward, they will go to Silicon Valley.
The competition task was to use Big Data, i.e. large, variable and various data sets in practice. Three-person teams took part in the competition, which at the very beginning could choose one of eight research problems – including the analysis of customers of the Żabka application.
The last issue interested students from the IT and management faculties – Paweł Kunicki, Adam Dłubak and Bartłomiej Lisek. According to the jury, their project “A system for customer segmentation and generating personalized promotions based on: current transactions, existing supply and external conditions” proved to be the most innovative, profitable and functional.
