The Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology has signed a letter of intent with buildingSMART Polska. The document has confirmed the establishment of cooperation between the university and the Polish branch of the international association working for the development of openBIM technology.

BIM is a digital record of the physical and functional properties of a building in parametric form, serving as a source of knowledge and all data about the object. It is fully available to participants of the investment process. This technology is used to generate and use data about the building, its design, construction and operation during the full life cycle.

BuildingSMART develops, standardizes and makes available specific technological solutions for the exchange of BIM data. The signed letter is a formal confirmation of the desire to continue cooperation in supporting the development of digitization of construction based on open communication standards and data exchange.
