A lecturer of the WSB Academy in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Professor Rui Alexandre Castanho, has been appointed by the European Commission as an Ambassador of the European Climate Pact for Portugal.
The European Climate Pact is an innovative initiative of the European Union, which is an integral part of the European Green Deal. Its overarching goal is to shape a green future for Europe.
As a Climate Ambassador, Professor Rui Alexandre Castanho is involved in active climate advocacy, including: engaging different audiences through social media campaigns, news articles and inspiring people to take concrete steps towards sustainability and climate change. He is also involved in the development of outreach materials, including guidance on organising climate workshops in schools to prepare teachers and young people to initiate change at a grassroots level.
