The WSB Academy from Dąbrowa Górnicza will be the first organization to receive funds from the Metropolitan Fund for the Support of Science of the Metropolitan Area of Upper Silesia for organizing lectures and scientific consultations in the public safety under the project “Public safety and its challenges – online activities with the participation of Dr Cecilia Farfán-Mèndez from the University of California San Diego”.
For seven days, Dr Farfán-Mèndez will give lectures on the fight against international crime, money laundering and the structures of organized crime. They will be attended by students and staff of the WSB Academy and the social sciences department of the University of Silesia and the Police School in Katowice.
Representatives of the Border Guard, the Internal Security Agency, the Police and the Prison Service who are students or doctoral students at universities in the Metropolis are also invited to listen to the lectures.
