The organizers of the 17th Podlasie Festival of Science and Arts have prepared over 500 events. The Festival will start in Białystok on May 20, 2019 and will be continued in Łomża, Suwałki, Kleosin and even Vilnius, where there is one of the faculties of the University of Bialystok (UwB).

The motto of the Festival is “Algorithms of reality”. Prof. Izabela Święcicka from the University of Bialystok, chairwoman of the organizing committee, emphasizes that algorithms are ubiquitous in our lives. They rule on Wall Street, manage medical devices, associate friends on the Internet, they can create information, but also spread disinformation. Algorithms also help to create a virtual world.

The program of the Festival includes workshops, presentations, lectures, scientific conferences and discussions, as well as performances, competitions, exhibitions and music concerts. There will be outdoor events, outdoor activities, educational games, experiments, medical examinations and demonstrations.
