On August 19-23, 2019, the XX Beacon Satellite Symposium will be organized in Olsztyn by the Center for Radio Diagnostics of the Space Environment, Faculty of Geodesy of Spatial Engineering and Construction at the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM).
The symposium is the largest conference organized in a three-year cycle by the International Radio Union Jonosphere Commission (URSI). For the first time this conference will take place in Poland.
The Olsztyn university will host over 200 scientists, including from the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, India, Russia, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa and Nigeria.
Established in 1972, the Beacon Satellite Studies Group focuses on the ionosphere monitoring using satellite radio techniques.
