“Economics and economic education are key issues both in industry and universities, and in government and local administration”, said Minister of Science and Higher Education Dariusz Wieczorek at the inauguration of the Year of Economic Education 2024.

“Connecting science and industry is a very important thing for us and we will try to strengthen cooperation and persuade entrepreneurs to use the wisdom of our scientists during this year”, stressed Minister Wieczorek.

He added that the goal of the new government is for science expenditure to increase, for funds to be spent efficiently. “This is a task for universities, for our excellent economic staff, for our scientists who, after all, do a gigantic job”, convinced the head of the Ministry of Science. 

The Year of Economic Education 2024 is a joint initiative of six non-governmental organisations involved in economic education. The celebrations aim to draw the attention of the public and decision-makers to the need to popularise financial literacy among the public.
