Dr Aleksandra Wróbel from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences of the University of Life Sciences in Poznań won a grant in the Sonatina competition addressed to young scientists and organized by the National Science Center.

In her research, Dr Wróbel focuses on the effects of seed lifting by animals on tree recruitment in various ecological contexts. The project will focus on the role of re-use by rodents of limba seeds previously buried by the nutcracker in the Swiss Alps.

Sonatina is a competition whose main goal is to enable the development of debuting scientists. After the completion of the grant, they can apply for funding for the project in the Sonata competition for more experienced doctors or Sonata BIS, which enables the creation of a new research team.
