A consortium with researchers from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology obtained funding grant from Norwegian Funds and the European Economic Area (EEA). Young scientists from the faculty of environmental engineering will implement the project “Shortened nitrification in activated sludge for domestic and wastewater treatment – a key solution for climate-neutral wastewater treatment”.
In addition to the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, the consortium includes the Silesian University of Technology, the Municipal Water and Sewage Company in Wrocław, and the companies Aquateam COWI AS and AQUANET.
The main goal of EEA and Norwegian Funds is to reduce economic and social disparities within the EEA and to strengthen bilateral relations between donor and beneficiary countries. In exchange for the provided financial assistance, the donor states can receive access to the internal market of the European Union, although they are not UE members.
