Graduates from the University of Silesia, the Silesian University of Technology and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków have designed a foot cleaning device, which can be used by people leaving the beaches. The device is already protected by patent. It also enables disinfection of the feet in swimming pools – informed the spokesperson of the University of Silesia Jacek Szymik-Kozaczko.

The device created by Joanna Śróbka, Łukasz Cyganik, Paulina Cyganik and Jolanta Rajca consists of a platform with a built-in cleaning chamber and a seat. The cleaning chamber is equipped with a set of at least six nozzles supplied with a low pressure air stream ended with silicone fibrils to facilitate cleaning of the feet.

The authors consider the use of bactericidal and fungicidal agents or materials, disinfecting the skin of a man leaving the beach, a pool space, or other places where bare feet come into contact with the ground.
