Inhabitants of the Silesian and Zagłębie region can use the Zagłębiowska Mediateka including a library, reading room, multimedia, department of regional collections, children’s Land of Science and Fantasy, the Cultural Orangery and the courtyard with a terrace.

The media library collections include over 200,000 volumes and 3 thousand audiobooks, 200 board and electronic games, as well as multimedia devices and toys for children and game consoles. Until the end of June, guests can visit the exhibition prepared for the 50th anniversary of the University of Silesia.

During the open day, the Mediateka organized exhibitions, meetings with authors, workshops, lectures, film screenings and a picnic. The participants of the event saw also scientific demonstrations prepared by members of scientific groups operating at the University of Silesia, and a 3D mapping show.
