15th Americanist Forum at the University of Bialystok

The Department of History of the United States of the University of Bialystok organizes the 15th Americanist Forum. The forum will start on June 29, 2018, its participants will talk about Polish-American relations in the context of the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence.

The Forum guests will talk about the participation of Poles and representatives of American Polonia in the battles of the First World War or the attitude of President Woodrow Wilson to Polish independence issue. The honorary guest of the conference will be Dan Hastings – cultural attaché of the US Embassy in Warsaw, who will give a speech “100 Years Together: People, History, Future”.

During the three-day debates, the participants will listen to over 25 lectures and will learn how reacted the press overseas to the kidnapping of King Stanisław August Poniatowski by the confederates, how was the November Uprising reported? Was Kazimierz Pułaski actually the father of the American cavalry? What connected Thomas Jefferson and Tadeusz Kosciuszko?
