Since 2003, the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities has announced successive Open Doors competition. Each year, the competition receives several dozen master’s and doctoral theses on disability issues submitted by universities from all over Poland. 

In 2023, in the 19th National Contest “Open Doors”, the winners are::

In terms of doctoral theses: 

In the category of social and vocational rehabilitation: Regina Korzeniowska from the University of Zielona Góra. In the category of accessibility for people with special needs: Katarzyna Binder-Olibrowska from the Medical University of Łódź and Monika Szczygielska from the University of Warsaw (UW). In the category of technological and architectural solutions serving people with disabilities: Adam Zając from the UW.

In terms of master’s theses:

In the category of social and vocational rehabilitation: Katarzyna Zawistowska from UW. In the category of accessibility for people with special needs: Piotr Kompalka of the Warsaw University of Technology. In the category of technological solutions serving people with disabilities: Mateusz Surowcow from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.
