The Scientific Club of Student Historians of the Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Krakow in cooperation with the Academic Corporation Akropolia Cracoviensis would like to invite participants to the 9th Nationwide Scientific Conference,, Spiritus movens of Polish Independence? Reflections 130 years after the establishment of the National League”, which will be held on 19-20 January 2024 at the Institute of History of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.

The conference will focus on the founding and history of the National League, as well as the ideological situation and its development among the activists of this organisation at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, and in particular its influence on the regaining of Polish independence.

As the organisers emphasise, the founders of the National League, including – one of the fathers of Poland’s regaining of independence – Roman Dmowski, in a short period of time built one of the most important ideological and political movements that went down in the pages of Polish history. Hence, it is extremely important to analyse and know this organisation in order to understand the past and, at the same time, the Polish heritage.
