50th anniversary of Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology at the Wrocław University of Technology

The Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology at the Wrocław University of Technology celebrates this year its 50th anniversary. There are 5 fields of study at the faculty – technical physics, computer science, biomedical engineering, quantum engineering and optics. The faculty scientists educate about 2 thousand students.

The Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology (WPPT) was established on September 1, 1968 as the first unit of this type in Poland. At present, there are about 180 scientists employed in the department – including 19 professors, 32 assistant professors and over 100 scientists holding PhD title.

Until now, over 7.5 thousand graduates at the WPPT have completed their studies. They are graduates who have held or occupy prominent positions in public administration, science and business. The Faculty’s employees run math and physics classes on almost all fields of study at the Wrocław University of Technology, contributing significantly to the education of thousands of engineers.
