Scientists from the Lublin University of Technology in cooperation with the company EKTO from Bialystok have created a prototype of an innovative overhead vacuum switch disconnector in a closed housing.

The EKTOS disconnector is a device for use in intelligent medium-voltage power networks, used for disconnecting and switching on current. The item is a ecological solution, it has better electrical parameters, longer durability and higher reliability compared to currently existing solutions. It is also adapted to work in extreme weather conditions, e.g. in heavy snowfall or icy conditions.

The president of EKTO Sławomir Laskowski emphasized, that the invention will be implemented in production next year. Its use will improve the quality of electricity distribution, while reducing its costs and technical losses as well as reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
