The University of Gdańsk is a participant in the consortium of project implementers of the “Spectral-Temporal Metrology with Tailored Quantum Measurements” (STORMYTUNE). As part of the research co-financed by the European Commission, it will develop quantum metrology tools appropriate for time and frequency measurements.
The aim of the project is to develop a theoretical framework that will allow to accurately determine the benefits and scope of applicability for “frequency-time” quantum metrology, while proposing optimal practical solutions and creating working prototypes with potential applications, including in spectroscopy.
The consortium includes world-class research groups in the field of quantum optics and an industrial partner – a world leader in the production of lasers. The project will be implemented in the years 2020-2023.
