Researchers of the Gdańsk University of Technology developing an innovative radio interface

15.06.2020

Over the next three years, scientists from the Department of Radiocommunication Systems and Networks of the Gdansk University of Technology will work on developing a configurable, hardware and software radio interface for smart devices of the Internet of Things in the energy, gas and water sectors.

The radio interface, called DUCH IoT, will be used to expand existing or implement new Internet of Things devices. The solution proposed by scientists from the Gdańsk University of Technology will enable the implementation of radio communication between such devices in accordance with international standards, using the LTE fixed infrastructure, next generation NGN networks (Next Generation Network), in particular 5G networks.

The project ‘Software-defined, universal radio interface for intelligent devices of the Internet of Things’ is implemented by a consortium led by DGT. The project’s budget is over PLN 10 million.
