Prof. Marcin Drąg of the chemical department of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology received another award for research on coronavirus. He received the Geniusz AD 2020 award from the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Wojciech Murdzek.
People of science and art were honored during the Genius Loci 2020 Culture, Science and Business Exhibition held in Szklarska Poręba. Prof. Drąg was awarded for outstanding achievements in the fight against SARS-CoV-2. The scientist and his team worked out the key enzyme of the coronavirus and thus paved the way for the creation of a drug for COVID-19.
– The award is of course dedicated to my team, as well as to all colleagues working with us on the coronavirus drug- says Prof. Drąg.
The laureate was also a speaker at the debate that was organized during the show. Experts from various fields discussed the prospects for the development of Polish science.
