Dr Jan Wolski, an employee of the Institute of Polish Studies and Journalism of the University of Rzeszów (UR), received the Award of the Association of Polish Writers Abroad in London for popularizing and promoting émigré literature in the Polish-speaking society.
Dr Jan Wolski is a literary historian, literary critic, translator of German-language literature, publisher, literary director and actor of the UR Scena Propozycji theater. He is also a member of the editorial team of the quarterly “Fraza” and of the Literary and Artistic Association “Fraza”.
He is the author of the books: Wacław Iwaniek. Sketches for a portrait of an emigrant poet (2002), Piotr Mordel – Polish typographer and bibliophile in Berlin (2011), Józef Conrad-Korzeniowski. Sailor from the Kresy (2018), Switzerland in Polish literature. From the 19th century to the newest times (2019) and translations of Swiss writers.
He has edited over a dozen collective monographs and many volumes of poetry, prose, essays, memoirs, published in the “Frazy” Library series. He is also a laureate of the Rzeszów City Award in the literature.
