Mathematical Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences launches Discouri Center

22.10.2020

The research group Discouri Center in Topological Data Analysis was officially inaugurated. It will be run by Dr Paweł Dłotko of the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) in Warsaw.

The Dioscuri program was initiated by the Max Planck Society to support the development of centers of scientific excellence in Central and Eastern Europe. The program aims to raise international standards of scientific quality by promoting outstanding scientists who want to create their research groups in the form of Dioscuri Centers.

The aim of Discouri Center in Topological Data Analysis is to disseminate the use of exact mathematical methods outside the area of mathematics, e.g. in economics, finance or neurology.
