Dr Renata Wietecha-Obuszny, scientist of the Jagiellonian University of the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University has been awarded the Polish Smart Development Award 2020 in the category Scientist of the Future. The competition jury appreciated her research on developing a methodology for the rapid detection of psychotropic substances in rape pills and biological material collected from victims.
The Polish Smart Development Award is awarded by the Smart Development Center to distinguish innovators and investors, people and organizations whose way of acting and thinking affects the smart and sustainable development of society and economy for 5 years.
Award for Dr Renata Wietechy-Obuszny is an expression of recognition for her achievements so far, in particular for the following projects: Toxykinetics of xenobiotics in human tissues: integrated research on the behavior of psychoactive substances in the bone marrow and alternative dissection materials; Rape pills as a social and analytical challenge developing a methodology for the rapid detection of psychotropic substances in rape pills and biological material collected from victims, and The use of modern analytical instruments for the purposes of combating document crimes.
