The University of Silesia (UŚ) has established and formalized cooperation with the municipalities of the Metropolis GZM (including Bytom, Gliwice and Ruda Śląska). The cooperation concerns the implementation of research providing a reliable diagnosis of the social situation in conditions of coronavirus risk.

The main goal of the research is to identify the implemented solutions and analyze the needs and problems faced by the social welfare and foster care system in the current pandemic situation. The diagnosis also focuses on the methods of the municipalities to cope with ensuring the implementation of social welfare tasks and solving existing problems and difficulties.

The research will be conducted by experienced scientists from the Institute of Pedagogy of the University of Silesia and – if necessary – by specialists from other disciplines. They will result in clear and communicative reports containing practical recommendations for rational solutions and an offer of training or further support.
