University of Gdańsk joins the consortium of the European SCORE project

19.12.2020

Scientists of the University of Gdańsk have joined a consortium with 27 European partners and will implement the project “Smart Control of the Climate Resilience in European Coastal Cities” (SCORE). The research will be financed under the Horizon 2020 Program, their total budget is almost EUR 10 million.

As part of the project, Coastal Cities Living Lab (CCLL) centers will be established in Gdańsk and 9 other European coastal cities, which will allow citizens, scientists, decision makers and other stakeholders to solve specific challenges related to the threats of these cities.

– CCLL’s tasks will include real-time monitoring and forecasting of the current state of immunity and mitigation compared to the estimated impact of water, wind and other environmental impacts in the coastal areas of the city of Gdańsk. Located in 10 European cities, CCLL will act as co-design and co-development centers – says Dr Jacek Barańczuk, University of Gdańsk.
