Students from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow within the framework of the Tajikistan Project educated their Tajik peers from Tajik Technical University in Dushanbe in the renewable energy. Firstly, they introduced them to the secrets of photovoltaics and then during a visit to Dushanbe, they built a solar lamp together – informs Anna Żmuda-Muszyńska, spokesman for the Krakow university.

The solar lamp, together with the attached measuring system, will be a real example of the photovoltaic technology for Tajik students and an innovative tool during laboratory classes.

The Tajikistan project is an initiative of four students from the Faculty of Energy and Fuels at the AGH University of Science and Technology: Joanna Maraszek, Anna Ścierska, Joanna Dubielewska and Hubert Stinia, who decided to share their knowledge of renewable energy sources with their peers in Tajikistan and thus influence the energy shortage situation electricity in central Asia. In Tajikistan as much as 70 percent residents experience electricity cuts.
