By May 11 participants can register to the conference “Polonia Restituta …” at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Silesia. The debate “Thinking Homeland … Citizenship and patriotism on the hundredth anniversary of Poland’s independence” will take place on May 14.

Speakers include Jarosław Gowin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education, Teresa Czerwińska, Minister of Finance, Wiktor Skworc, Metropolitan of Katowice, Marian Niemiec, bishop of the diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg church in Katowice, and Robert Kostro, director Museum of Polish History in Warsaw.

The conference takes place as part of the project “Polonia Restituta. Decalogue for Poland on the 100th anniversary of regaining independence “, initiated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Council for Social Conferences of the Polish Episcopate. The project consists of ten thematic conferences addressing issues of public, economic, political, social and cultural life.
