The European Commission has announced the results of the last competition for individual Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) grants for experienced scientists under the Horizon 2020 program. 14 grants for the amount of over EUR 2.2 million will be implemented in Polish scientific organizations. For the first time, one of the individual grants will be received by the company. This is the best Polish result in the MSCA competitions in Horizon 2020 – informs the National Contact Point for Research Programs of the European Union.

The Commission will allocate € 328 million to finance grants for 1,630 experienced scientists. Polish scientists will receive 8 MSCA grants and 6 Widening Fellowship grants. The sum of co-financing for Polish scientific organizations is EUR 2,255,160.

10 grants will be received by 7 universities (3 of them including Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń have received 2 grants, the singular grant will be received by the University of Warsaw, University of Gdańsk, Warsaw University of Technology and Gdańsk University of Technology).

2 grants are awarded to the research institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences), 1 grant will be awarded to Saule Technologies S.A. (the first individual grant for an enterprise) and 1 grant will be received by a research institute (National Center for Nuclear Research).
