National Science Center completed MAESTRO and SONATA BIS competitions

The National Science Center (NCN) has announced the results of the twelfth MAESTRO competition and the tenth SONATA BIS competition. The awarded grants in the amount of over PLN 215 million will enable researchers to carry out pioneering basic research and to create new research teams.

For the amount of over PLN 1 billion Polish scientists submitted 495 applications of which 86 projects were qualified for funding. The success rate was over 17%. The total value of the funds awarded in both competitions is PLN 215,523,213.

MAESTRO is a competition for research projects for experienced scientists who desire to implement pioneering basic research for scientific discoveries. Based on the evaluation of NCN experts, in the twelfth MAESTRO call for proposals, the jury accepted 10 out of 68 submitted applications and allocated funding of nearly PLN 37 million.

SONATA BIS is a competition for research projects aimed at establishing new research teams, conducting basic research, in which the project manager should obtain academic title or equivalent qualifications. In the 10th SONATA BIS competition, 76 out of 427 submitted applications will receive funding with a total value of almost PLN 179 million.
