University of Wrocław receives over PLN 12 million within Sonata Bis competition

Scientists of the University of Wrocław will receive over PLN 12 million as part of the tenth Sonata Bis competition of the National Science Center. Thanks to the funding, they will conduct research in archeology, biotechnology, chemistry, geography, earth sciences and psychology.

The most – over PLN 3 million was won by Dr Mateusz Czesław Strzelecki, who will implement the project “GLAVE – transformation of paraglacial coasts by tsunami waves – sometimes, today and in a warmer future”.

The grant winners include Dr Bernadeta Justyna Kufel-Diakowska for the project “To decode stones. The economic, social and symbolic importance of macrolytic stone products in the Neolithic communities (VI-III thousand BC) of south-west Poland – a biographical approach” and Prof. Tomasz M. Niedzielski – “Forecasting water levels on unmonitored river sections with the use of satellite altimetric data”.
