Researchers of the Łukasiewicz – the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals and the company Progresja New Materials Sp. z o. o. will develop composite powders of aluminium and titanium alloys for additive manufacturing (AM).
The alloying powders will be surface-modified with high-melting metal and/or ceramic particles. They will result in the introduction to the market of AM technology of new alloys and composites with better strength properties than those currently used, and the launch of the first in Poland production of spherical metallic powders dedicated to AM technology.
The solution is directed to the intensively growing market of AM technology. Currently, these technologies are most intensively developed in the aerospace, medical and tool industries. The total cost of the project is over PLN 2.7 million, including co-financing of over PLN 2.4 million.
