The Vistula Academy of Finance and Business in Warsaw organizes on Monday 28 May the scientific seminar “Ireland in the international context and relations with Poland”. The lecture in English will be given by Gerard Keown, the Irish ambassador to Poland.
Introduction to the lecture will be presented by Dr Wawrzyniec Konarski. During the seminar, the participants will focus on the position of sovereign Ireland as a subject of international relations, its efforts to end the conflict in Northern Ireland and Polish-Irish relations in the interwar period and after Poland’s admission to the European Union.
Gerard Keown is Ireland’s ambassador to Poland since March 2015. He has been working in Irish diplomacy since 1996. In March 2016, he published his book entitled First of the Small Nations: The Beginnings of the Irish Foreign Policy in the Interwar Years, 1919-1932.
