The Aero Design club of the Academic Aviation Club of the Poznań University of Technology took third place in the Free Mission UAV category at the Turkish Teknofest aviation and technology festival. The students created the system, consisting of two autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles to detect waste in the indicated area.
Over the last two years, the Aero Design club has developed an airframe structure and an object location algorithm. During the Droniada competition, they purchased and mastered HolyBro quadrocopter platform.
– The design of the aircraft is well thought out, taking into account the safety factors, improved during many tests. That is why we did not have so many repairs in Turkey – says the supervisor, Dr Radosław Górzeński.
The participation of the Poznań University of Technology representation in Teknofest was financed by the Minister of Education and Science under the Best of the Best program from the European Social Fund.
