The Polish-French research team won a gold medal and a special award at the iCAN 2021 International Fair – International Invention and Innovation Competition in Canada.
The application, developed by scientists from the Institute of Computer Science of the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz and École d’Ingénieur Généraliste en Informatique et Technologies du Numérique in Paris, analyzes the emotional state of human communities, which can be used in medicine and public safety management.
The application analyzes the sounds made by the examined person or a group of people – passers-by on the street, spectators at the event, fans at the stadium – and assesses their emotional state. It can be installed on a smartphone and, using its microphone, may analyze the situation, giving tips enabling an optimal reaction adequately to the emotional state of a near group of people.
